GG1 in layers

In the Summer 2009 issue of Classic Trains magazine, we celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Pennsylvania Railroad GG1, America's greatest electric locomotive. In the special 35-page section are nine articles covering topics such as the GG1's long and successful career, the man who devised the locomotive's distinctive shape, an engineer's recollections of running them, the repainting of Nos. 4935 and 4877 into PRR colors, and more. A highlight is an annotated, "see-through" illustration of a GG1. In the series of 14 slides below, illustrator Rick Johnson has separated the artwork into layers, so the various elements can be more easily seen.
